My Bio

January 18th 2008 was my four year recovery "Birthday." I got clean, and I stay clean as a member of Narcotics Anonymous, One Day at a Time.

I am grateful for everything that I have been blessed with in recovery.

I have two great kids, one great man, three dogs, a very handsome bird, and too many cats. They are feral cats that I am dumb enough to feed, except Gary, Chester, and Meanie. Those three are just... cats.

My Occupation

I am a psychiatric Nurse, and have been in this profession since 1980. I don't know how to do anything else :)

I went on a year long meth run once, and briefly decided to go work at the fairgrounds doing landscaping and maintainance type work. I learned a valuable lesson.

NEVER, EVER put yourself in a position where you will be responsible for cleaning up after CARNIES. There is nothing more horrific than a bathroom that has been occupied by a pack of Carnies. Nothing.

I'd rather pack an infected wound than clean a Carnie infested restroom.

My Hobbies

The frikken internet, obviously. I like to go crystal digging, either in old mine shafts, caves, or anywhere we can find them. I am getting a collection of foreign and interesting domestic currency going since all of my friends and family seem to travel, but I haven't yet.

Did I mention crystal digging? Yeah - love that.

I love being in the woods - the farther out there, the better. I live in a cabin in the woods, but I like getting WAY out there - the kind of places that wreck the suspension on your 4x4 truck and make you wish you had a better one.

I have too many pets, and that's OK with me. My bird thinks he is a dog - I have three dogs - or, somedays four dogs when the bird is barking at everyone.

I also enjoy going to NA conventions and functions with my friends in recovery. That's always a good reason to take a road trip, and go have fun.

My kids - I like doing stuff with them... but they are 19 and 22.... so you know, they do stuff with me because I'm their mother. I'm sure they'd rather be with their friends - that way, they don't have to listen to Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills, Nash (And sometimes, Young) and all my other hippie music.

Fortunately, they are both big Beatle fans, so that always flies.
